Jazz Club Summer Festival
The Jazz Club's summer festival counts among the jazz highlights of the year and traditionally takes place both outdoors and indoors. On the specially mounted garden stage in the unique atmosphere of the "Jazz Club backyard," things get started on June 27 at 7 p.m. Opening the evening is 19-year-old saxophone sensation Leonora Tomanoski, who dedicates herself to the work of her idol David Sanborn, supported by the phenomenal singer Kim Sanders. In addition to the greatest hits by David Sanborn, the audience can also look forward to selected soul classics – performed with passion and entirely in keeping with the motto: Straight to the Heart.
Following that, the Matti Klein Trio takes the stage and explores new possibilities in soul jazz. With warm Wurlitzer, Fender Rhodes piano bass, undulating tenor saxophone, bass clarinet, and funky drums, the trio gets the summer festival guests moving in the garden. In the Jazz Club itself, in the orange-red catacombs, Elmar Brass & Friends play three sets of swinging mainstream jazz as they do every year.
