Aron Weise is an electric bass player from Berlin with a deep passion for jazz, hip-hop, and R&B. For his debut album "Fragments," Weise brought some of his favorite musicians from the Berlin jazz and hip-hop scene into the studio. The album features Igor Osypov on guitar, Paul Andrew on saxophone, Joshua Milo on keys, and Jannik Kerkhof on drums. Rapper Rapturous Apollo Helios is also featured on two tracks, known from the legendary Berlin hip-hop event The Swag Jam.
The album was recorded and mixed by Felix Seefluth at Junction Studios in Berlin and mastered by Bernhard Range at Schaltgerätestudios in Werder. The music is influenced by artists such as Robert Glasper, Roy Hargrove, and Pino Palladino as well as the sound of the London nu-jazz scene with musicians like Alfa Mist and Yussef Dayes. Weise's compositions pursue a modern, groove-oriented approach to jazz and improvised music, combining influences from various genres in a fresh and exciting way.
