Anna Maria Schnabl und Saltbrennt
Anna Maria Schnabl (AMS) is a singer, pianist, and songwriter who uniquely combines Upper Austrian dialect with Viennese wit. She performs with Johannes Neunteufel on bass and Alex Riepl on drums. She began learning piano at the age of four at the music school in Kirchdorf an der Krems.
Her music is deeply personal, with songs exploring themes of love, family, faith, and personal experiences. Her style ranges from heartfelt ballads to groovy tracks, always maintaining an authentic Austrian character. As she describes it, "Dialect is the most natural thing that comes out of me," and her lyrics invite listeners to find themselves in her music.
Saltbrennt, her supporting act, is a Tyrolean band that creates what they call "self-distilled groove blues". They blend traditional blues roots with funk influences, positioning themselves between "Stubenblues and stadium rock". Their unique approach involves unconventional instrumental roles, with harmonica providing unusual musical foundations, bass taking on soloistic functions, and tuba establishing the basic groove. Their multi-part vocals aim to be earthy, honest, and unvarnished - essentially a "men's choir with instruments".
