Till Brönner
Till Brönner is a German jazz trumpeter, flugelhorn player, singer, composer, producer, and photographer, born on May 6, 1971 in Viersen. He is Germany's leading jazz trumpeter and is also referred to as the "German Chet Baker." His album "That Summer" (2004) reached number 16 on the German pop charts and made him the best-selling jazz musician in German history.
Brönner studied jazz trumpet at the Cologne Conservatory of Music under Prof. Malte Burba and American jazz trumpeter Bobby Shew. His first album "Generations of Jazz" (1993) with Ray Brown and Jeff Hamilton immediately won the German Record Critics' Award. He subsequently performed with international greats such as Dave Brubeck, Tony Bennett, Mark Murphy, James Moody, and Monty Alexander. In 2009, Brönner became a professor at the Carl Maria von Weber Conservatory of Music in Dresden, where he has taught jazz trumpet since the winter semester of 2009/10.
Brönner regularly tours with various ensembles: a duo with Dieter Ilg, a septet, and since 2015 the Till Brönner Orchestra with over twenty musicians. His new album "ITALIA" is a tribute to Italian pop culture from the 1960s to the early 1980s and features classics by Lucio Battisti, Paolo Conte, and Tony Renis as well as original compositions. Starting March 31, 2026, he launches his major "ITALIA Tour 2026" with a total of 21 concerts in Germany.
