Ulf Meyer & Lars Hansen
Guitarist Ulf Meyer and his Flensburg colleague Lars Hansen (electric bass) play a duo characterized by intense musical communication. They listen and respond to each other attentively, quickly, and sensitively, thereby creating a dynamic that justifiably raises doubts in the listener about whether only two musicians are actually at work. Guitar and bass constantly exchange roles – one moment they are the melody instrument, the next they switch to an accompanying function.
Ulf Meyer is a German jazz musician (guitar) and composer who came into contact early with the Scandinavian way of playing jazz with folk elements; the melodic has great influence on his guitar style. In a duo with bassist Martin Wind, which has existed since 1999, he released eleven albums. He also performs in a duo with bassist Lars Hansen. Lars Hansen is a sideman through and through and loves moving in different genres.
The album "Scenes" was released in 2021 and comprises 10 tracks with a total playing time of 64:10 minutes. The music is song-oriented, with melody & harmony as the foundation for a jazz that doesn't make you furrow your brow.
