The King of Swing Orchestra revives the music that ushered in a new musical era in the 1930s under the title "American Swing Night – in the world-famous Benny Goodman sound." Benny Goodman was an American jazz clarinetist and bandleader, known as the "King of Swing," and led one of the most popular swing big bands in the USA from 1935 to the mid-1940s. The program presents highlights of the "Kings of Swing" – Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, and Count Basie.

The King of Swing Orchestra features 20 top soloists. The orchestra from Cologne accompanied world stars such as Shirley Bassey, Giora Feidmann, and Sabine Meyer three times at the UNESCO Gala in Düsseldorf.
