
Liniker
Liniker is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and former bandleader of the Brazilian soul and Black music band Liniker e os Caramelows. Her voice is described as "powerful and deep-frequency" with "slightly raspy, soul-singer character" as well as "versatile" with "recurring falsetto" and "easily recognizable timbre." Liniker is an openly trans woman, and her music has influenced young Brazilians who face gender discrimination.
Her first solo album Indigo Borboleta Anil mixes lyrics in English and Portuguese and combines elements of MPB, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Reggae, and Samba. In November 2022, Liniker became the first trans woman to win a Latin Grammy. Her second solo album CAJU, released in August 2024, has already become one of the biggest successes of her career and has accumulated over 200 million streams across all platforms. In 2023, Liniker brought her solo debut to Europe and performed in countries including Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, and Germany, with notable shows at Glastonbury (UK), Roskilde (Denmark), and Jazz à Vienne (France).
