Jazz am Hainer See°4: Lyn & The Fingers
For the fourth edition of "Jazz am Hainer See," Bernd Wiesner has invited the band Lyn & The Fingers. The band is among the newcomers of 2025. The seven-member Leipzig band, led by bandleader and singer Nora Lyn Handschuh, combines jazz with alternative pop, neo-soul, and experimental elements. Their songs, written in German and English, move between jazz and progressive pop and address themes such as self-discovery and self-doubt.
In 2025 they released their first EP, toured throughout Germany, performed at the "Jiangsu International Jazzfestival" in China, and won the Leipzig Jazz Newcomer Prize of the Marion Ermer Foundation. When the sextet plays together, each instrument enters the musical dialogue in its own way – sometimes with a discreet voice in the background, in the next moment with solo qualities in the front row. This is how the polyphonically interwoven sound fabric of Lyn & The Fingers is created piece by piece.
Line-Up:
Nora Lyn Handschuh (vocals), Marvin Uhlig (flute), Julius Bode (trumpet, flugelhorn), Caspar Rutsch (tenor saxophone), Anna Siroshtan (piano), Guillermo Valdivia (double bass), Christoph Sprenger (drums)
