New Orleans Connection Jazzband with singer Ingrid Schwarz
The New Orleans Connection Jazzband presents swinging Dixieland and is formed by well-known musicians from the Rhine-Main region such as Dr. Dieter Arlet (trumpet), Michael Borhauer (clarinet, saxophone), Peter Wichert (trombone), Christoph Neubronner (piano), Jochen Kittan and Götz Ommert (bass), and Stefan Grein (drums). The band's circle also includes singer Ingrid Schwarz-Lurf, singers Peter Petrel and Herby Weindl, trumpeter Paul Held, and pianist Hartmut Graber. The musicians are united by their love of New Orleans jazz and the joy of making music together – they have been honorary citizens of New Orleans since 1992.
Ingrid Schwarz comes from a well-known Mannheim musician family, as her father worked as a bandleader in Circus Roncalli. At five years old, she had her first performance as a singer in her father's orchestra, the Joe Schwarz Orchestra. Friends of the NOC appreciate the band's unbridled joy of playing and their swinging Dixieland jazz music from the golden 1920s through 1950s in the style of Louis Armstrong, Eddie Condon, Bobby Hackett, Edmund Hall, and Wild Bill Davidson.
