Jazz & Lyrics IV takes place on July 8 and 9, 2026. The Wilde Jazzorchester and its conductor Martin Auer transform the stories of 1001 Nights into jazz fairy tales. The BigBand of the Deutsche Oper Berlin presents in its jazz series "Jazz & Lyrics" in the Tischlerei six thematic jazz concerts with members of the BigBand and guests in smaller formations. The concerts are dedicated to a specific theme or a specific composer and fuse music with lyrics. Texts, biographical information and poetry as well as background information on the respective theme make these concerts a special experience.

The jazz series of the BigBand of the Deutsche Oper Berlin in the Tischlerei has stood for special musical encounters in an intimate setting for over ten years. Each concert combines jazz with lyrics, poetry, or biographical insights into significant composers and jazz legends. The series is curated and presented by BigBand members Rüdiger Ruppert, Sebastian Krol, and Guntram Halder.
