Micha Winkler's JazzLust
Micha Winkler is one of the best-connected musicians in the Dresden jazz scene. Born in 1972 in Meißen, he began his studies in 1991 at the Carl Maria von Weber Dresden University of Music in jazz trombone, arranging, and composition. He subsequently completed a master class as trombonist with Jiggs Whigham at the Hanns Eisler Berlin University of Music. He was part of the founding formation of the Saxony State Youth Jazz Orchestra and later participated in several professional bands and projects such as the Top Dog Brass Band, the Semper House Band, Andrej Hermlin's Swing Dance Orchestra, and the Dresden Jazz Fanatics.
With "Micha Winkler's JazzLust," Micha Winkler fulfills his dream of realizing his own musical ideas. This exclusive formation celebrates a 'sparkling' mixture of swing, soul, Latin, and occasionally folk music with a touch of witty classical adaptations. A special feature is the original compositions, which gently burrow into your ear. Since Micha Winkler's stay in New Orleans, his music has become groovier and more spirited than ever and radiates, also through its catchy melodies, a kind of life-affirming lightness and practically invites you to swing along. The ensemble consists of Micha Winkler (trombone), Silke Krause (keyboards), Lars Födisch (double bass), and André Schubert (drums).
