The Dorf is a stunningly brilliant collective big band with up to 25 very special musicians, around which a surrounding area with many splinter groups, its own label, concert series, and its own festival has developed. The music is characterized by influences from Krautrock, Trance, Noise, Jazz, and Utopian Beats. Approximately 80 musicians have shaped this orchestra, which, due to its unique communication culture, moves like a flock of birds heading south – with extremely efficient orientation and a clear goal in sight.

The Dorf is a pronounced live band and has played approximately 300 concerts, several of them at international festivals. Musicians such as Caspar Broetzmann, Mambo Kurt, and FM Einheit have already collaborated with The Dorf. The concert begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 17, at Steinhagener Schlichte-Carree. Before the concert, members of The Dorf offer the workshop "Become a Dorf Musician" at the Steinhagener youth center Checkpoint from 1 to 3 p.m. Participation is free.
