Gregory Porter // Seebühne Bremen 2026
Gregory Porter, the celebrated singer and songwriter from California, performs at the Bremen Seebühne on July 21, 2026. Porter is one of the indispensable figures of contemporary jazz, whose stunning voice is rooted in soul, blues, and gospel, transforming every song into its own distinctive Gregory Porter sound. With his soulful voice and his enthusiasm on stage, he captivates an audience of millions; his expressive baritone always carries the history of Black music within it.
Gregory Porter was born in Sacramento, California and grew up in Bakersfield. His mother, a pastor, encouraged him to sing in church from an early age. In 2004, Porter moved to Brooklyn, where he worked as a chef and performed in various jazz clubs before establishing a weekly residency at the Harlem club St. Nick's Pub. Porter has won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album twice—in 2014 and 2017. In 2025, the jazz singer was nominated for a Grammy again and has collected a total of eight nominations from the jazz, R&B, and pop categories.
