BIRDLAND BIGBAND "THAD JONES, COUNT BASIE & DUKE ELLINGTON"
The Birdland Bigband is Hamburg's established jazz ensemble and the first resident bigband of one of the Hanseatic city's oldest jazz clubs. With 17 highly accomplished musicians from the Hamburg jazz scene, the band brings the swing and bigband era to the stage: the far too rarely performed works of Thad Jones, Duke Ellington, and Sammy Nestico resound with respect for tradition and the courage to bring their own musical influences to bear.
