Elias Störr Trio – Jazz
The Elias Störr Trio explores the symbiosis of classical-romantic music and jazz. Together with Heinrich Eißmann on drums and Loreen Sima on bass, the trio takes their listeners on a journey full of catchy melodies, vibrant improvisations, and dramatic turns.
The trio was founded at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. There, pianist Elias Störr, drummer Heinrich Eißmann, and bassist Loreen Sima came together during their bachelor studies and quickly developed a shared musical language. The trio's artistic signature is shaped by Störr's compositions – the ensemble's pieces come from his pen.
Elias Störr grew up in the Vogtland and received comprehensive classical piano training before studying jazz piano in Dresden. The connection of these two musical worlds shapes his compositions to this day. After completing his bachelor's degree, he moved to Cologne, where he is currently studying composition in the master's program at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
Despite their different home bases – Heinrich Eißmann lives in Leipzig, Loreen Sima in Munich – the trio remains closely connected. In addition to their work in this ensemble, all three musicians are active in further projects and have already been honored with various awards, including nominations for the German Jazz Prize as well as winning the Sparda Jazz Award Düsseldorf.
