Session Opener: Hammond: Sebastian Sprotte and Clemens Reichmann

At Horns Erben there is something unique: an original Hammond organ "B3". Since February 2023, it has been part of the jazz session at Horns every third Thursday.

Already established as a solo instrument from the 1950s onward by jazz greats like Jimmy Smith and Milt Buckner, it later became a hissing, smacking, and shimmering presence in the background of countless soul/funk and R&B recordings. To this day, its warm tone and penetrating high frequencies do justice to its place in music history.

In the city where Bach once rendered immeasurable service to the sacred organ, Horns Erben is now opening a new chapter in the local jazz landscape with this unique instrument.
