
Joe Webb Trio - Piano Shooting star from UK
Joe Webb is a British jazz pianist and composer from London who leads the Joe Webb Trio, whose album Hamstrings & Hurricanes was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2024. Webb was born in Basingstoke and grew up in Neath, South Wales. After moving to London in 2013, he established himself as an active and influential figure in the music scene. Webb is an exceptionally talented pianist and improviser who draws inspiration from 1990s Britpop and adds references to his Welsh roots, seamlessly blending traditional jazz with contemporary flair.
His debut album Hamstrings & Hurricanes made the Mercury Prize shortlist in 2025. The trio has performed worldwide, including at Ronnie Scott's, Blue Note China, Jazzwoche Burghausen, and the London Jazz Festival. The Royal Academy of Music announced in 2025 that Webb has been appointed as a jazz professor to their faculty.
