Andreas Hertel is a German jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader who has been active on the German jazz scene since the early 1990s. Born in 1964, he studied jazz piano at the Musikhochschule Mainz and graduated with a diploma. The quintet has been playing under his direction at the piano since 2006, performing predominantly original compositions by Andreas Hertel. With hard bop in the style of the great Blue Note legends – but entirely with original compositions – the quintet continues the tradition in its own way.

His CDs "Blue Bop" (Trio, 2022) and "Keepin' the Spirit" (2015) with star guests Dusko Goykovich, Tony Lakatos, and Lindy Huppertsberg were nominated for the German Record Critics' Award. Wesley G. is a guitarist whose performances with Liza Minnelli, Birelle Lagrene, and Andreas Oberg have made him a sought-after musician on Europe's jazz scene; he plays solo, duo, and trio jazz guitar – everything from melodic and bebop to funk and jazz soul.
