Swing Georg: Thimo Niesterok Quartett feat. CLEO
The concert series "SWING GEORG" celebrates the music of the swing era with changing, top-tier lineups. Cologne-based trumpeter Thimo Niesterok welcomes singer CLEO as a guest – a musician who interprets the repertoire of the Great American Songbook with remarkable naturalness. In the tradition of Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald, she develops her own distinctive artistic voice. Her tasteful use of scat solos and her strong stage presence captivate the audience immediately.
CLEO's debut album Let Them Talk was awarded the quarterly prize of the German Record Critics and opened doors to renowned jazz venues for her. She has already performed with jazz musicians such as Michaël Valeanu, Doug Weiss, and Ryan Carniaux. Thimo Niesterok (*1996) is among the outstanding voices of the young German jazz scene. His warm, nuanced tone and his distinctive phrasing give his musical language a special depth – captivating longtime jazz fans as well as new and young listeners alike.
