Marialy Pacheco Trio
Cuban pianist Marialy Pacheco won the Montreux Jazz Festival Solo Piano Competition in 2012 as the first woman to do so – one of the world's most prestigious awards for jazz piano. Raised between salsa and classical music, she discovered jazz through Keith Jarrett's "Köln Concert". With her album "Reload", she presents a mature work that combines Cuban roots with Latin American traditions and classical influences – authentic and contemporary at once.
Pacheco collaborates here with two Colombian musicians whose interplay creates a distinctive, characteristic sound. The trio condenses various musical identities and personal experiences into a coherent artistic statement.
