Giant Crow
Admission 20,- Euro plus fee | Box office 25,- Euro
Giant Crow is a Dark Folk/Post-Rock band from Hamburg that captivates audiences with their unique sound and compelling presence. What is known locally as "North German melancholy" resonates distinctly in their music – yet never without a healthy dose of optimism.
The centerpiece of the band is the distinctive voice of singer and banjo player Nikolas Kuhl, whose songwriting tells stories of inner turmoil, dark visions, and radiant hope. A genre typically dominated by guitar is broken open by wavy synth sounds and atmospheric violin melodies. The music that emerges is honest, direct, and thrives on its contrasts: brutal passages meet fragile moments, big choruses meet intimate verses. It is precisely this tension that defines the band's unmistakable character.
Live, Giant Crow is a true experience. The musicians' unbridled joy of playing rubs off on the audience; whether floating away to the electronically charged post-rock finale of Goddess of the Wild, shaking their hair to Hands, or unable to keep their feet still during the country-shuffle banger An Outlaw's Tale. A band that ignites with passion – and once heard, doesn't let go.
For fans of powerful alternative rock with depth and character.
