Ramiro Olaciregui - "Polar Surfer" - Album Release Concert
Argentine guitarist and composer Ramiro Olaciregui presents his album Polar Surfer with an outstanding quintet from the Berlin jazz scene. The compositions blend rock, pop, and funk in a modern jazz context and reflect Olaciregui's personal musical identity. The title reflects the search for orientation in the face of contradictory forces – a polar surfer moves forward undeterred, even when external circumstances contradict one's own intentions.
After completing his BA at Berklee College of Music (2006), Olaciregui worked in New York with artists such as Jimmy Heath, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, and George Garzone and recorded his debut album The Remains. Based in Berlin for seven years, he earned his Master's in Jazz Arrangement & Composition from the Jazz Institute Berlin in 2022. In addition to this album release, he is an active member of the Berlin jazz scene and works in projects such as the World Citizen Band, Tobias Meinhart 5tet, and Diego Piñera 4tet.
