Ipanema Beach Hotel • presented by IG Jazz
For 30 years, IBH has dedicated itself to Brazilian music. What began as an idea to combine jazz with Latin American rhythms and replace the drum kit with percussion instruments has developed into a profound engagement with an entire universe: Samba, Bossa Nova, Forró, Frevo, Choro, and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) – from folkloric to jazzy, inspired by Tom Jobim to contemporary music.
The musicians bring their rich experience from jazz, classical, pop, and world music. Jeschi Paul has mastered the original texts, and over the years the ensemble has delved ever deeper into the subject matter. IBH plays Brazilian music with a stylistic range that is unparalleled: beautiful songs with authentic rhythms, sophisticated arrangements, mature improvisational artistry, and exuberant joy in playing merge into a thrilling yet relaxed experience.
Line-Up:
Jeschi Paul (vocals, percussion)
