Marina & The Kats are from Graz and were founded in 2015 before moving to Vienna, where the idea for the band took shape. The Vienna-based band plays indie swing. With their blend of modern indie sounds and nostalgic swing, they have captivated fans worldwide since the release of their debut album – a compelling mixture of old and new that sounds familiar yet fresh.

The band's trademark is that three of the four band members actively play drums or share a set – a concept called "Shared Drums" that contributes to their completely unique sound. The music fascinates with melodies that stick in your head, unexpected harmonic turns, and imaginative arrangements. Their current album is called "Friendly Fire". The band is nominated in 2026 in the "Jazz/World/Blues" category for the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards.
