Bugge Wesseltoft - Andersen - Nilssen
Bugge Wesseltoft, Arild Andersen, and Gard Nilssen form a Norwegian supergroup trio representing three generations of Norwegian jazz musicians, each belonging to the international elite. After a chance meeting a few years ago, the three played together for the first time – the brief musical encounter was so special that it should not end. The Bugge Wesseltoft Special Trio presents the repertoire from Wesseltoft's new album in classic piano trio formation.
Bugge Wesseltoft presents his new album "Am Are," a continuation of his solo records series that began in 2007. The album is characterized by melancholic, downtempo vibes and contains meaningful messages or reflects current global themes. The trio presents trio compositions for the album, Bugge Wesseltoft standards, as well as material from the individual band members.
Jens Christian Bugge Wesseltoft is a Norwegian jazz pianist, composer, and producer, son of jazz guitarist Erik Wesseltoft. Wesseltoft is considered a pioneer of "Nu Jazz" and founded his own label Jazzland Recordings in the 1990s, where he released the groundbreaking album "New Conception of Jazz," which combines electronic music with traditional jazz elements.
