Jacobs Band-Night
For more than 30 years now, jazz, soul, and rock have been performed in various ensembles at Jacob-Grimm-Schule. In the field of popular music, there is a wide range of different formats and styles in which students can express themselves musically. In addition to the jazz combo, the mixed band, and the big band, the "talent forge" (Hessenschau, 18.08.2018) now has various self-organized formations. JGS students repeatedly produce their own bands and lineups ranging from solo artists to jazz nonets, the most prominent of which are: Milky Chance and singer LEA.
As part of "Jacobs Band-Night," various self-organized bands from JGS will be heard. This includes "Solero" featuring singer Philine Schaeffer. Accompanied by Emilia Ramic (keys), Alex Dahlfeld (cello), Thore Hutschreuter (guitar), Anna Rau (bass), and Imke Nötzhold (drums), the band plays summery music, cover songs, and original material. Also founded this school year is another band with Elena Vogt (vocals), Jannik Janson (vocals), Nidal Abu Isa (guitar), Emila Ramic (keys), Henry Mardof (bass), David Funk (drums, guitar), and Johann Bahr (drums), who will showcase their favorite covers on stage.
The evening will conclude with the band "Indigo" featuring Mia Blume (vocals), Pepe Lang (vocals, guitar), Marius Kruse (saxophone, keys), Laurenz Plewe (guitar), Mattiss Keiss (bass), and Johann Bahr (drums). Together, the six JGS students have already made a name for themselves with their hit-worthy song "Lange Her" and are already being touted as the new star of the North Hessian indie scene. Don't forget to wear dancing shoes!
