Thomas Siffling NQ+
Mannheim trumpeter and club curator Thomas Siffling has been one of the most distinctive voices in German jazz for many years. With his new project, he opens a fresh yet deeply rooted chapter: elegant, reduced, emotional, and full of groove.
At the center are clear melodies, harmonic reduction, and an atmospheric sound, subtly enriched by electronic nuances. Inspired by the Scandinavian jazz aesthetic of the Esbjörn Svensson Trio and the lyrical clarity of Miles Davis, the focus is on reduction to the essentials – beautiful themes, plenty of space for emotion, and a fine electronic touch that keeps the sound modern but never overloaded. Siffling uses this freedom to impressively showcase his qualities as an emotional and lyrical trumpeter.
The Thomas Siffling New Quartet stands for a clear sonic aesthetic and cross-generational jazz: accessible, but never arbitrary; sophisticated, but always with soul. An invitation to listen, feel, and discover – for jazz lovers and the curious alike.
