Roman Fritsch Quartet
Roman Fritsch founded his quartet to reestablish West Coast Jazz following Gerry Mulligan's model. Distinguished by excellently executed harmonic and melodic solos and the relaxed, cool tone played by the musicians, jazz experiences a "Re-Re-Birth of the Cool". In New York, Roman Fritsch worked on an album with the former Gerry Mulligan Trio featuring Bill Mays, Dean Johnson, and Ron Vincent, and now presents his first quartet album with new music. Alongside well-known pieces from the Gerry Mulligan Quartet, such as "The Lady Is A Tramp" or "Line For Lyons", original compositions in the traditional style of West Coast Jazz are also performed.
Line-Up:
Roman Fritsch (saxophone), Felix Schneider (piano), Felix Renner (bass), Benedikt Weiß (drums)
