Lily Dahab - When the Sky Shines
Lily Dahab was born in Argentina and grew up in Buenos Aires before moving to Berlin a few years ago. The Berlin-based singer is accompanied by her four-piece band and combines jazz influences with her Argentine homeland. Her voice has been described by the Badische Zeitung as "radiant honey."
Dahab grew up in Buenos Aires, where she studied music and recorded a bolero album. After a leading role in "Cats," she moved to Spain, where she took on further leading roles for nine years, including the gypsy Esmeralda in a contemporary stage musical version of Victor Hugo's "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" in Barcelona. Her debut album "nómade" was completed in 2010 and was soon nominated for the "Deutscher Schallplattenkritiker-Preis." Her second album "Huellas" (which means "traces") follows the genetic, emotional, and musical traces toward her homeland.
