Bill Evans Vansband Allstars - Pretty Unique
The Bill Evans Vansband Allstars are a unique group assembled by tenor and soprano saxophonist Bill Evans. Their music combines infectious grooves and melodies that the audience can physically feel. The group plays music from soul, funk, neo-jazz, and pop.
Bill Evans gained global prominence in the 1980s when he was recruited by Miles Davis at age 21 and brought Marcus Miller, Mike Stern, and John Scofield into the band. He recorded six albums with Davis and later collaborated with John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, The Allman Brothers Band, Mick Jagger, and Willie Nelson. In 2024, Evans toured Europe, Brazil, and Japan with his VansBand Allstars featuring rotating musicians such as Keith Carlock, Felix Pastorius, and Gary Husband.
