Philippe Lemm Trio - Jazz under the Sun
The Philippe Lemm Trio was founded in 2011 in New York and consists of three musicians with exceptional command of their instruments. The trio draws its repertoire from new interpretations of jazz standards and creates passionate soundscapes ranging from traditional jazz to progressive rock and classically influenced music. Philippe Lemm, born and raised in Amsterdam, quickly became one of the most versatile and expressive drummers in Europe and the New York region. At age 19, he was admitted to the Amsterdam Conservatory.
The trio won the B-Jazz International Contest in Belgium in 2015. The album "First Steps" contains compositions by Philippe Lemm as well as several pieces by pianist Angelo Di Loreto. The trio has completed extensive tours in the USA, India, and Europe – primarily in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Poland, and Spain. Among their most notable performances are the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Pori Jazz Festival, the Blue Note in New York, Ronnie Scott's in London, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and the Bimhuis in Amsterdam.
