
Stompin at the Jazzhaus
Stompin' at the Jazzhaus is a new series for friends of traditional jazz at Jazzhaus Heidelberg, designed for everyone who has lost their heart in New Orleans. The series presents top musicians from the region, including Gary Fuhrmann and the internationally renowned double bassist Lindy Huppertsberg.
Gary Fuhrmann is a German saxophonist, flutist, and clarinetist who lives in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. The German-French jazz musician, born in 1978 in Worms, came into contact with jazz early through his French grandfather, with whom he listened to records by Django Reinhardt. Lindy Huppertsberg is a German jazz musician and double bassist who initially played with the Frankfurt Barrelhouse Jazzband, founded her first German-American quartet Lady Bass & The Real Gone Guys in 1987, co-founded the mainstream group The Swinging Ladies in 1994, and founded the successful band WitchCraft with Anke Helfrich and Carola Grey in 2003.
