Clemens Orth Trio
Clemens Orth is an award-winning Cologne jazz pianist who, without leaving the inner world of jazz, unfolds a colorful world full of inspiration and surprises and proves himself a master of a highly refined harmonic language that ranges from classical counterpoint to atonality. Orth studied at the Cologne University of Music and moved to New York shortly thereafter, where he continued his studies from 2001-2004 at Queens College with Sir Roland Hanna and Michael Mossman. A year later, he wins the international piano competition "Premio Benedetto XIII" in Bari, Italy in the "Jazz Piano" category.
The Clemens Orth Trio consists of Clemens Orth (piano), Joscha Oetz (bass), and Silvio Morger (drums). After his return to Cologne, Clemens Orth lives and works again in Cologne, where he founded the Salon de Jazz. The Salon de Jazz was created in 2008 from a shared apartment of musicians in the heart of Cologne's South City and includes a concert space of approximately 42m², an adjacent kitchen/bar, an office, and 4 recording studio rooms located in the basement.
