Cristina Clara
Cristina Clara is a singer and songwriter from northern Portugal who has lived in Lisbon since 2005 and has rooted her artistic journey in the oral music tradition. Her close connection to Cape Verdean and Brazilian cultures shapes her artistic voice, inspiring her to explore poetic and harmonic affinities between genres such as Fado, Morna, and Samba-canção. Her debut album Lua Adversa was released in 2021 and distributed by Sony Music.
Her repertoire ranges from Portuguese Fado to Cape Verdean Morna to Brazilian Choro – always with modern arrangements, lively rhythms, and subtle lightness. She integrates hand percussion instruments such as the Adufe and Tracanholas into her performances – elements connected to the traditional female universe. Her performances include WOMEX in Manchester, the NOS Alive Festival, Teatro da Trindade in Lisbon, Atlantic Music Expo in Cape Verde, Casa de Portugal in São Paulo, and the Azores International Festival.
At the Sargfabrik, Cristina Clara invites you to a warm evening at the Portuguese coast, blending Fado with Jazz – light, natural, and touching. She is accompanied by Pedro Loch on guitar.
